Listen to the Story

One sunny morning, Little Fox Ben woke up feeling excited. He had slept well all through the night in his cozy bed, just like he promised his mama. Today, he wanted to show his new friend Lucy Bunny all the wonderful places in the forest.

"Would you like to go exploring?" Ben asked Lucy when she hopped over to visit.

"Oh yes!" Lucy's pink nose twitgled with excitement. "Let's go on an adventure!"

Soon, their friend Max Squirrel joined them too. "Wait for me!" he called, scampering down from his tree. "Adventures are more fun with friends!"

The three friends walked deeper and deeper into the forest, following colorful butterflies and chasing falling leaves. They were having so much fun that they didn't notice how far they had gone.

"Look at that pretty blue flower!" said Lucy, hopping toward it.

"And those shiny rocks!" added Max, running in another direction.

Ben followed his friends, laughing and playing. But when they finally stopped to rest, Ben looked around and felt worried. The trees looked different here. The path was gone.

"Um, friends," Ben said quietly, his tail drooping. "I think we're lost."

Lucy's ears fell down. "Oh no! How will we get home?"

Max climbed up on a stump to look around, but everything looked the same in every direction. "I can't see our homes anywhere," he said sadly.

Ben remembered what his mama had taught him about staying calm. "Don't worry," he said, trying to be brave. "We should look for help, just like I asked for help when I was scared of bedtime."

Just then, they heard a gentle "Hoo-hoo" from above. Looking up, they saw a wise-looking owl with soft brown feathers and big, kind eyes perched on a branch.

"Hello, little ones," said the owl. "My name is Aly. You look lost. May I help you?"

"Yes, please!" all three friends said together.

Aly smiled warmly. "I fly all over this forest, so I know every tree and path. But first, tell me - do you know where you came from?"

Ben thought carefully. "We live near the big oak tree with the red berries."

"And there's a stream nearby that goes bubble-bubble," added Lucy.

"I know exactly where that is!" Aly said, spreading her wings. "Follow me, and stay close together."

The wise owl flew slowly from tree to tree, making sure the friends could keep up. She pointed out special landmarks along the way. "See that rock shaped like a heart? And that tree with the crooked branch? These will help you remember the way home."

As they walked, Aly taught them important lessons. "When you go exploring, always tell a grown-up where you're going. And notice special things around you so you can find your way back."

Finally, they saw the big oak tree! Ben's mama was there, looking worried.

"Ben! Thank goodness you're safe!" she said, hugging him tight.

"I'm sorry, Mama," Ben said. "We got lost, but Aly the owl helped us. And I remembered to stay calm and ask for help, just like you taught me!"

Mama Fox smiled proudly. "You did the right thing, asking for help. Thank you, Aly."

"You're very welcome," Aly said kindly. "These are brave little ones. They stayed together and didn't panic."

That night, as Ben snuggled into his cozy bed, he thought about his big adventure. He had learned that it's okay to ask for help, and that staying calm helps you think clearly.

"Goodnight, Ben," whispered Mama. "Sweet dreams about your adventure."

"Goodnight, Mama," yawned Ben, closing his eyes with a happy smile. "Tomorrow, I'll explore closer to home!"

And he drifted off to sleep, dreaming of kind owls and faithful friends.
